31 Days of Horror: 4

V/H/S 2

In my opinion, the best one

If you’re unfamiliar with the series, V/H/S is an anthology horror film. It is comprised of multiple mini movies. The main plot of this second one is that a couple of PI’s break into a house searching for a missing student and find a bunch of TVs set up with a lot of video tapes. They stop and put in each tape which are the mini movies we get to see.

This sequel housed the best ones. There are 4. My favorite is titled Safe Haven (the one with the cult). The writing for that one was pretty great. And the visuals were good. The others were interesting as well. The first one is pretty freaky and the way it was shot was so cool.

Each segment has a different director, so it’s pretty cool experiencing the different styles. Each has a different approach and it keeps you on your toes. You forget you’re watching one film until they pull out the tapes in the central plot, which is pretty creepy in itself and does a good job of glueing everything together.

My IMDB rating: 7/10

Should you watch this? Yes!
